Halloween and Numbers Weeks

Last week I had some technical difficulties getting the Halloween week pictures to transfer to my computer so this week is a 2 for 1 post about last week's Halloween experiences and this week's number unit.

Last week we cut open a pumpkin and took turns pulling out seeds. They were roasted and we had a chance to taste them.

We made skeletons and talked about various bones in our bodies--spine and skull were the least known for the children.

We enjoyed dressing up in costumes too.

This week we brought specific quantities each day for Show & Share. Each day we had a great variety and the children did well counting their objects and finding what was the same/different or describing what the items were used for. Thank you families for helping your child find the correct quantity to bring each day! We also worked on a counting book that we will practice reading a few more times at school before it comes home later next week.

Next week will be the start of our Family and Thanksgiving Unit.
