We had a short but informative week. We started the week with Pp Show & Share. We had a good variety!
We learned penguins live near the South pole at the bottom of the earth and polar bears live near the North pole at the top of the earth.
Dad penguins care for the egg by balancing it on their feet to keep it off the ice and we had to try it out--very tricky!
We compared our heights to an adult Emperor penguin--most were shorter but some were about the same height.
We had fun too. We caught fish, shrimp, and krill in the sensory table while trying to avoid the ice bergs.
We also did some "penguin bowling" and counted how many were knocked down and then practiced writing the number on the board.
We took time on Thursday to enjoy the fresh fallen snow!
Next week will be stories from one of my favorite authors--Mo Willems. I can't wait to share the Pigeon stories with the children!
Also Early Learning report cards will be sent home on Tuesday.
