Winter Unit first week

Winter stories and projects kept us busy this week. Mother nature provided a wide variety of winter weather from cold and sunny to freezing rain and snow--we even had Tuesday afternoon off because of the icy roads.

The highlight of the week was listening to the story "Snow Soup" and then making our own. We used real snow, carrots, celery, onions, and potatoes. Everyone helped add ingredients and repeat the phrase, "Stirring and stirring and stirring the pot. I think the soup is getting hot." After it cooked for about an hour, we sampled it. Some really loved it and asked for seconds and thirds, others didn't care for it. We were very proud of everyone for trying it.

On Friday afternoon we had to say good-bye to our friend Isaac and wish him well as he moves with his family to a new town.

Next week we have more winter fun with Family Fun Day on Wednesday. We also have Show and Share for Hh on Tuesday and Mm on Thursday. Have a great weekend!
