Dental Health Week

We had a super short week--one day in the classroom, but we made the most of it while exploring dental health.

We read a couple stories about going to the dentist and how to keep our teeth clean.

We practiced brushing pretend teeth with real toothbrushes and toothpaste.

We played games with 2 giant mouths. In one we had to find and fit the correct size and shape of "teeth". In the other we counted and as we pulled teeth out. We compared how many teeth each of us pulled out and tried to figure how many more or less we had than someone else.

Next week we will be reviewing safety.  You can help at home by reviewing your family meeting place in case you have to leave your house because of a fire.

Friendship and Valentine's week 2

What a busy and exciting week we had! A couple big events were handing out Valentine's and sledding --some children said this was their first time sledding. We also played hide & seek with small hearts (3 are still hiding), made pizzas for snack, painted a lot, and retold Good Night Gorilla with props. After sledding, in the afternoon class, we brought in "snowman seeds" and observed to see what happened to them in the freezer, refrigerator, and the classroom.
