This week we had our first homework--listening to our smoke detectors at home and practicing going to our family meeting spot. Some children were able to tell me accurately where their spot is but many could use more practice. It is good to review that information every month too.
We colored exit signs and made a 911 poster to use at home too. We also made a matching game.
Cookie Monster and Big Bird showed us how to Stop, Drop, and Roll. We practiced.
Our final story was No Dragons for Tea. It helped us review important ideas like crawl out of the house, get out & stay out, call 911 and know what street and town you live in.
We had lots of fun with friends too.
Last week we made a class book after reading Ten Apples Up on Top.
The Rio Firefighters also came on Friday to show us the gear they wear and that they are real people under the mask, coat, boots, and pants.
We finished last Friday with the FundRun. We ran and ran and ran.
Next week we will start exploring the season of Autumn/Fall.
