We had "snow" much fun really experience winter weather. We liked the days that the snow packed and we could built with it. We did not like the day with the windchill below zero when it meant we had to stay inside, but we made the best of it and had fun anyway.
Inside we read stories like Jan Brett's The Hat and The Mitten. We drew places for animals to live and we used the magna tiles to build homes and swimming pools for them.
Our cooking project was making an edible snowman with a bagel, cream cheese, blueberries, cereal pieces, a carrot, and a cracker.
We had lots of time with our friends. We practiced negotiating, sharing, planning, turn taking, and making discoveries. Many children found they liked looking up through the bottom of the sensory table.
Next week we will explore some polar animals.
