This week we read stories about families and friends. We used shapes to make a family picture and we worked with a partner (friend) to make a fancy foot friend--next week we will have our first letter sound show and share /f/ so the fancy foot friends, families, and a giant's Fee Fi Fo Fum helped us start thinking about the /f/ sound. Friday we watched Jack and the Beanstalk on youtube (here is the link) and wrote about if Jack should or should not climb the beanstalk and why. We were climbing the walls in gym on the rock wall.
For Veteran's Day we learned a song called Red, White, and Blue by Debbie Clements. We just used our CD player, but if you would like to hear the song here is a link--the song starts at about 1:25 minutes into the video. Each child in our elementary building received a star from a used and retired flag too.
Next week we will focus on Thanksgiving and close our week with Family Fun Day.
