We have spent a little over a week learning about Thanksgiving and making a book that we memorized so we could practice reading it. We made pumpkin pie together and enjoyed some with whipped cream. We also read some nonfiction information about the first Thanksgiving and learned a few new words including Mayflower, Pilgrims, Native Americans, and Plymouth. We took a break and enjoyed the packing snow too. Last week we had Family Fun Day and were joined by many family members. Thank you everyone--the children loved having you join us for the day. We finished this week by coloring a turkey and adding ground thyme to make it smell like a roasted turkey. We had a bonus cooking project and made thankful/smiling faces with crackers, penut butter, and raisins.
