This week we branched out and learned a little about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. We noticed both last for over a week and both use candles in their celebration. We played dreidel with chocolate and decided it was a delicious game. One child in our class noticed that Hanukkah sounded a lot like their cousin ANnika's name and a different child noticed the menorah rhymed with his sister Norah's name. Firday we made cereal necklaces (instead of a bead one) for Kwanzaa--also a delicious project.
We introduced a new play center with tree decorating and a present wrapping station. Even though it all looks like play, we are busy working our fingers and getting them ready to write. We also have to judge how much paper and tape we need. Friends names are on the window so we can write their name on a tag.
Thursday was exciting because it was our very first concert ever. The children did a wonderful job with their songs, ryethm sticks, and dancing.
Also I asked each child what they are hoping to get for a present. Here are their reaponses:
Grace-a spider game that crawls Asher--race cars Jake--airplane that puts it's wheels up and can fly Weston--a watch and a rainbow balloon puppy Asuna--a Christmas tree made of paper Trisitin--a pet vet with a puppy Hazel--Princess house, dress, crown, wand, and a toy horse I can ride Blair--A puppy house with a dog, a bone, and a bed and you can build it Dani--Puppy House with water and you can build it and it has a bone and puppy Conor-a robot and an elf costume so I can help Santa Miles--Spiderman car with web shooters so I can drive in it Brayden--vacation and Grave digger and megladon Oliver--new transformers Addie--Paw Patrol and Dr. Baby Hayden--toy dishwasher Waylon--Santa toy (looks like Sanat and transforms) Evan--Grace digger Ella--Mavis Dress with thumb holes Alia--Rollerskates and a mini bike Beau--dishwasher for my real kitchen and the Scary Ghost book Harper--Stuffy panda Vayda--plastic fairy Maxwell--yellow camera, Bluey house, Peppa Pig house, and a toy bathroom
