Halloween Fun Oct 29-31, 2024

This week we had some Halloween Fun while learning. On Tuesday we talked and read about some bones in our bodies--did you know the femur/ thigh bone is the largest and strong bone in a human body?! We found our ankles, hips, spine, skull, and many bones in between. We made q tip skeletons--hope you saw them when they came home because we didn't get any pics that day. Ooops. We also enjoyed dressing up in costumes and playing with our friends.

Autumn/ Fall Unit Oct 16-25, 2024

We have been busy learning about different aspects of the season of Autumn. We have read stories about migration (moving to a different area) and hibernation (sleeping for a long time until conditions improve). We opened soybean pods and counted the seeds and redecorated our hallway. We painted and cut out large colorful leaves and we are almost finished using dried seeds (beans and corn) to make our names.  Yesterday (Thursday) we cut into the pumpkin we got on our field trip and everyone helped get the seeds out. They were roasted and then we tasted them--some really liked them and some did not. Today we took a break from our season unit and enjoyed a lego version of Jack and the Beanstalk. Each child gave their opinion about if Jack should or should not climb the beanstalk and dictate their reason for it.

Next week we will read some Halloween stories and we are all looking forward to our dress up day.
