Signs of Fall Week One

We enjoyed a beautiful fall day at the Creek Bed Country Farmacy pumpkin patch. One student had a great idea, "We should make every Tuesday pumpkin patch day". (We had been telling the owners of the pumpkin patch that every Monday is forest day.) Everyone got a pumpkin and then we played on their extensive outdoor play area. One child summed it all up and said, "That was awesome!"

In the classroom we used common fall colors to paint, traced a giant leaf shape, and cutout the shape to decorate our tree in the hall.

We built finger strength and dexterity but shucking corn for the sensory table.

We opened soybean pods and counted the seeds inside.

We used dried pumpkin seeds for counting too.

Next week we will continue to explore the season of fall.
