We continued our apple exploration and also focused on being a kind friend.
We heard a story about Little Bear's Star and we cut an apple across the middle. We discovered a star in our apple too!
We made predictions about if we could balance a beanbag or 2 on our heads and then we tried it. Some of us even balanced 3. We read Ten Apples Up on Top and wondered how the animals in the story could balance 10 apples on their heads. We used pictures of ourselves and made a class book.
We worked as a team to sort marker caps by color. When they were sorted we came up with ways to measure which color had the most and the least. Counting the caps was the main way, but one friend figured out he could put them in the jar and measure how full each color filled the jar.
We had time to create with various art materials too.
Throughout the week we practiced taking turns, using kind words to ask for items or help, sharing play dough and other supplies, and comforting a classmate when they were upset of hurt.
Next week we will be learning ways to be safe if there is a fire. Look for our first "homework" activity on Tuesday night.
