Gingerbread Man week

We started 2018 by reading a couple versions of the Gingerbread Man and a couple adventures of Jan Brett's Gingerbread Baby. Throughout the week we enjoyed reconnecting with friends and welcoming a new classmate. We also made a matching game of Gg words--gum, grass, gift, gown, green, gate, etc--hope you had a chance to play it with your child.

We decorated gingerbread cutouts to spice up our hallway.

The big event of the week was making and eating our own gingerbread creation--boys, girls, snowmen, and other shapes. We all helped measure and add ingredients, smelled the spices, and stirred the dough. When we got to the snack room we found they were trying to get away and the fox was hoping for a snack, but we rounded them up and we had a delicious treat.

Next week we are hoping the extreme cold is gone so we can get outside to explore the season of winter close up.
