Exploring Autumn week 2 Oct 23-26, 2018

We were busy using all of our senses as we explored fall.

We worked on our names using many kinds of seeds to decorate the letters. Some were big and some small. There were different colors too.

We explored with our senses the last foods from gardens. We smelled, felt, tasted, and looked at watermelons, onions, apples, and a pumpkin. Thank you Hanson family for the produce!

Our cooking project this week was making a pumpkin pie. We smelled the spices and then everyone had a turn to add an ingredient. Some liked the pie, some liked the whipped cream, some liked both, and some tried it but didn't care for either.

Burr Oak Gardens, LLC came in and shared information about popcorn. We each had an ear to shuck. We listened as the corn popped in the hot air popper and we smelled it as it finished popping. It was crunchy and delicious. Everyone got a baggie of popcorn to take home and pop with their families--Thank you Burr Oak Gardens!

We listened to Jack and the Beanstalk again this week. We played with the beanstalk and the castle. We enjoyed fun in other centers too.

Next week Halloween stories and projects!
