Exploring Autumn Unit week 1 Oct 16 & 17, 2018

It was a very short, but busy, week! We started our Exploring Autumn unit with a trip to the Creekbed Country Farmacy. We had a tractor-drawn hayride to the pumpkin patch and everyone got a pumpkin. We saw a few farm animals and then spent the rest of our time playing in the Back 40--so much to do! We had a quick snack and headed back to school.

Today we were back in the classroom where we were delighted to find corn in the sensory table. It got a little loud, but we loved the feel on our hands, the scooping, the pouring, and using our imaginations to cook potions and pies.

We cut large leaf shapes out of colorful papers we painted last week. These will help decorate our tree in the hall.

We explored soybeans by pulling pods off the stalk and then cracking them open to count the seeds.

Next week we will have more fun exploring autumn!
