We continued noticing colors all around us while getting to know our classmates. A couple highlights from our week included our first time checking out library books and making our first class book--Who Do You See?
We had library in our classroom. We listened to a couple of stories and than selected a book from the cart. Please remember to return them on Tuesday so we can check out a new story.
On Thursday, we read Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and we each made a page for a class book. We traced our names and added our picture. We also read Harold and the Purple Crayon. Each child drew their own picture and dictated their story (sorry no pictures of this activity--we were too busy writing! The children had so much to say.)
We learn best while playing. We were busy with squeezing and rolling play dough, cutting paper in the sensory tub, building a zoo with blocks, cooking in the kitchen, operating a doctor office, med-flighting dollhouse inhabitants to treatment, painting at the easel, creating a game of night and wake up, reading and rereading favorite stories, and so much more. Here is a glimpse:
Next week we will explore apples--a tasty topic!
