Colors All Around Sept 8-10, 2020

We were busy noticing colors all around us this week.

Tuesday we went on a walk around town looking for red. We found red signs, flowers, hydrants, chairs, letters, vans, taillights, and much more. We noticed other colors too--especially the numerous gray squirrels dashing about.

Wednesday we made oobleck--2 parts cornstarch and 1 part water. Some of us loved how it was solid but melted through our fingers. Some of us weren't so excited about how it felt.

Thursday we did our first official cooking project. We made play dough. It was great just using our hands and we enjoyed using tools too.

We spent time getting to know each other better in our play centers. We cut paper in the sensory table, painted at the easel, built with blocks, drove trucks, read books, "cooked" in the house area, and made our own stories in the puppet theater. We danced to the Color Pokey with paper strips too. It was a busy week.

We are looking forward to our first forest day next week. Be sure to bring a water bottle and to dress for the weather--layers are great. There are still mosquitoes so bug spray is recommended. When they get home, do a tick check as well. Next week we will continue noticing Colors All Around.
