Through stories, songs, visitors, dress up, and games we practiced fire safety and learned fire safety concepts like getting out and staying out, stop-drop-& roll, 911, crawling to breathe the less smoky air, and making a family meeting spot. Be sure to review your meeting spot often--at least once a month.
Friday was extra special because members of the Rio Fire Department came to our room to show us their fire fighting gear.
We made apple crisp--we read the recipe, measured, mixed, and tasted it when it was baked.
We enjoyed time with our friends too!
Next week we will start exploring the season of fall/autumn. It will be a multiweek exploration so it will be a couple of weeks before the next blog.
