Farm Unit April 1-11, 2025

We read many folktales that had farm animal main characters--Henny Penny (practiced rhyming names), Three Little Pigs (read 2 versions and answered questions about the story), Three Billy Goats Gruff (reviewed different sizes and made puppets to retell the story at home), and The Little Red Hen (reviewed helping each other). We also read 2 stories by Patricia Polacco--G is For Goat and Oh, Look. We finished our week with Rumplestiltskin--no animal characters but counted the number of letters in our names, practiced writing our names, and clapping our names in syllables.

Our favorite project was "milking" the cow/glove. Most were squealling with delight and a few were concentrating on the open/ close with their hands. Our special cooking project was "pigs in a blanket". They took turns cutting the pig or blanket in half and the other person chose which half they wanted.  Also the art center had many new supplies and they were busy there.

Here is a peek at our 2 weeks:

PM class completed pigs in a blanket--I forgot to grab the ipad while cooking--sorry!

Next week we will focus on Earth Day and ways to take care of our planet.
