This week we read about ways to care for our planet and the living things on it. We enjoyed Shel Silverstein's The Giving Tree, Dr. Suess's The Lorax, and Todd Parr's The Earth Book. We cut out leaves and blossoms for our hall tree and used rinsed milk cartons to make houses. Things we learned help our planet are turning off lights when not in a room, turning off the water whle brushing our teeth, using both sides of a piece of paper, saving leftovers to eat when we get hungry later, and making sure trash goes in the trash can.
Also a big THANK YOU to the PTO for providing each child the opportunity to select 2 books at the books fair! They were all very excited about their selections.
Not many pictures but here is a peek at our week:
Next week we are learning about wild animals from Africa and Asia.
