We learned about wild animals that live in Africa and Asia. Each child signed up for a group to learn more about 1 animal. We found out what it ate, where it lives in the wild, and some interesting facts. We noticed what color(s) it is. The animals we studied were elephants, lions, camels, zebras, giraffes, and pandas. We made charts, wrote the animal's name, and drew pictures of the animals. Each day small photos were hidden around the room and they worked to find them too. Another day they went on safari to find groups of pictures and count the animals--the binoculars were their favorite part.
We also had the opportunity to stop by the second grade room and see newly hatched chicks.
