Earth Day Unit

We had a really short week with multiple snow storms. Monday no school so we rescheduled forest day on Tuesday. Wednesday was the only day I saw the morning class in the classroom. Wednesday afternoon about half the PM class was at school and only for an hour before the whole school released early. Thursday morning was a late snow late start so I only saw the afternoon class. Friday was a teacher in-service day so no children.

We did have time to do some finger painting. The afternoon class was able to use their papers to trace and cutout leaves for our hall tree.

We used eye droppers with blue and green watercolors to create our own earth.

We read The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstain and The Earth Book by Todd Parr and we learned a couple new songs including The Green Grass Grew All Around and We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands.

Everyone had a chance to explore the new ramps and balls that were introduced this week too.

Next week we will explore wild animals from other countries.
