Farm Unit Week 1 April 3-6, 2018

We started exploring who lives and works on a farm. We have been looking at pictures to see what we notice--animals, weather, which season, colors, actions, etc. We learned a few fun songs that you maybe hearing at home--B-I-N-G-O and I Know a Chicken. We looked at animal figurines and found things that were the same or different like size, number of legs, color, which way they were looking, what kind of tail, etc

We read a couple versions of The Three Little Pigs and the children each had a chance to tell the story to me, as well as, act it out with their classmates.
We colored pigs and then rolled them in the "mud" (paint) with a partner.

Bb Show & Share was this week too.
bunny, bale, book, boy, brown eyes/hair, beanbag, boots, book, blue bouncy ball, baby
many bears, braids, Brewers, bouncy ball, bracelet, brown toy

We took time to have fun with our friends. With Wednesday's delayed start the AM class had an extra day at home, so the PM class had some extra outside time in the snow with sleds. On Tuesday AM one of the children designed a game and gave directions for his peers to go find extra posters he hid around the room.

The blog is a day early because I will be gone tomorrow to attend the Early Childhood Conference at UW-Whitewater. Next week more farm and we will focus on goats.
