We reviewed many ideas, concepts, songs, projects, etc this week including colors, families, cooking, and dress up/ masks.
We read Mouse Paint and Little Blue, Little Yellow. After reading, paper plates with red, yellow, and blue paints were provided--some children mixed colors like in the story and others made their own experiments. Most found out if you mix all 3 you get brown.
We were so excited on Tuesday because we had our spring concert at the high school!
We also read Where's the Big Bad Wolf? and tried making a mask with paper and just about anything available in the art center.
Thursday we decided we would do 2 (that's right not just the ordinary 1, but 2) cooking projects. The first was for our moms--bath bombs. We measured and mixed and sprayed them with just enough water so they would stick together. We also added lavender essential oil--the morning class loved the smell and many said it made them feel relaxed; most of the afternoon class did not like the scent and one child described it as "a dead turtle in a bathtub". Our second cooking project was Puppy Chow for us to enjoy--it was a big hit with both classes.
Friday we read A Busy Year and remembered some things we did throughout our time together. We also made thank you cards for the office staff and our specials teacher--everyone helped us have a great year. We also took our marigolds home to give our mothers. We planted them the last week of March and look how much the flowers have grown!
We also had fun with our friends.
Next week we will continue with EL Wrap Up.
